DRUM SET CAMP for SUMMER

Designed for: Experienced Middle School Aged Drummers (having completed 6th, 7th, or 8th grade)
Dates: Monday-Friday afternoons, July 26-July 30
Location: The Music Academy - 2790 W. College Avenue, State College
Description: This camp will prepare students for ensemble drumming situations in high school and beyond! With a focus on listening to original recordings, students will develop musical and rhythmic confidence in playing rock, jazz, funk, latin, and middle eastern patterns. This musical study will be buttressed by an introduction to two of western drumming's foundational technique books: Stick Control by G.L. Stone and Syncopation by Ted Reed. Students will put this new knowledge into practice all week in a small percussion ensemble setting with other campers.
Cost: $150 per student
