The Music Academy’s Summer Rock Camp is a week long intensive program where students will learn the “ins & outs” of rock & roll, blues, jazz, and other contemporary styles. The camp’s emphasis is ensemble playing — students will get to learn and play tunes every day in a band of their peers and The Music Academy faculty, and will develop essential skills and knowledge in instrumental mechanics, improvisation, rock history, music theory, and music electronics. The camp will close with an exciting concert featuring The Music Academy faculty and other State College professional musicians. School-age students, all instruments, and all experience levels are welcome, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to see first hand what it’s like to be in a full-fledged rock band.
